Cardboard and paper?

Hello. We are brand-new guinea pig owners, and I have a question about using cardboard as enrichment for the guinea pigs.

Are all cardboard and packing types of paper acceptable and safe?

Are there specific types of cardboard or paper that should be avoided please?

You should avoid any cardboard with dyes or paints as these can be toxic.
Generally, plain brown toilet roll (or kitchen roll) tubes are safe. It seems to be getting easier to find safe cardboard as more companies are making the cardboard recyclable so with fewer dyes and glue.
