I have Basil who is outgoing, settled in really quick.

Then I have Elvis, really shy and timid.

So I assumed that Basil was the dominant one out of the two because of his character. But I had them out tonight for floor time and Elvis kept rumbling and bum wiggling near Basil. So does that mean that Elvis is the dominant one or is he putting Basil in his place now he is not so timid. There is no aggressive behaviour between them.

In my experience, you don't have to be the dominant boar to be entitled to rumblestrut. I'd say timid Elvis is keeping his rep up by proving he is capable of such behaviour, but clearly would never act upon it. The real dominant pig will get first dibs in the food bowl, the comfiest sleeping spot even if it means turfing the other one out, and have the highest nose for longest if they ever express that challenging behaviour.
Rarely boar pairs do reach a sort of equilibrium and share the leader role, but as nothing agressive is shown sounds like you got it all good :)

Thanks for that, that makes sense cos Basil is always at the food/hay etc first which is why I assumed he was the dominant one.

It's actually nice seeing Elvis not so timid and saying "I can do that at you too" :(|)
