Well, I have 1 dog and 3 cats, and I want another guinea pig sometime this year, but I canät quarantine it outside of my room thanks to the other pets, what should I do? And no, our neighbours could probably do nothing, one of the neighbours we know has a dog...

:) Hello, I had no idea we had a member from Sweden,

Perhaps put them on a level beyond the reach of the other animals with no obvious route for them to get up there.

You could put the at the opposite end of the room, as far away from your current pigs as possible.

Watch out for airborne illness. Putting them in the same room risks airborne illness getting spread, but it's probably safer than leaving them in the room where your dogs and cats have access to.

If they do get sick, you'll have to take both old and new pigs to the vet.

I have no experience in this so would need clarification from somone who does but maybe putting some kind of blanket over the cage to help stop the spread of airborne illnesses would work?

I don't think putting blanket over the cage is a good idea. Bad ventilation.

That's good to know, I had seen it in practice before but I wasn't sure how well it actually worked or if it was best practice.

Putting the newbie at the other end of the room should do the trick, unless you are up for something particularly nasty. Always handle, feed and clean the newbie last, so you do not carry anything to your old piggies, and use good hygiene (including an apron or a special old pullover which can be washed at 60 C).

Have you looked out for rescues in Sweden? I know that there is at least one Gothenburg, but there may be more. If a piggy has undergone quarantine in a rescue upon arrival (check with that), then it is safe to join stright away.

Well, we don't have a car, so we can't go far at all, so I get my Guinea Pigs preowned from a site called blocket.se
Sorry, I just can't go far away at all and can't find any that is close at all :(
I live in Segersjö, near Tumba.

Some rescues might be able to bring their guinea pigs to you.

When I adopted my third pig, I found him on petfinder.com (US site for adoptable pets). The rescue was an hour away, but they insisted they do a home inspection. They brought the pig to me.
