ive got two guineas (girls) that ive recently introduced piglet is 4 1/2 months and chip is 2 1/2 months. piglet is so friendly but chip just seems to be so shy i cuddle them both for about 3 hours a day and chip just runs away when i come into the room any tips on making her a bit more tame? or just time and cuddles :/

I have a sow that was like that too!I won her over with food :))
She was really shy, so what I used to do was sit on the ground with her,and she would come up and take food off me, I just kept doing this with her veg and now shes fine...she would even jump up on my lap for food! And then do some popcorning around the floor!xx :))

aaaw thats gorgeous.....food bribery LOL LOL :))

As Teddy as said above, food is a great bribery and the way we got the trust of our piggies.

Another thing that I recomend highly is constantly talking softly to them, they get used to the sound of your voice and it does calm them down. One of our pigs still won't let us pick her up and will avoid all attempts at trying to collect her but she is slowly coming around. It does take time and some piggies are more skittish than others.

Good luck.

Like others have said, food is a great tool! I also think time and cuddles will help. One of our pigs was very skittish when we first got her, but now is a gigantic suck... it just took her some time (and treats) to get comfortable with us. I also think some pigs just are more 'snuggly' than others... one of our pigs will stretch out and sleep on our laps, the other likes pats but certainly doesn't pass out for hours when we pat her, and one of my previous pigs like pats but was always more squirmy than the others and always wanted to go back sooner.

Hello - it sounds as if you are taming them and spending lots of time with them:) You don't say whether you cuddle them in anything - following forum advice I got some Snuggle Sacs and the more nervous of my piggies is much happier to be stroked in the sac rather than free on your knee. He likes just his head to be peeping out and the rest of his body safe in the fleecy sac. He is beginning to learn to jump in the sac rather than run away. Maybe worth a try? Lots of luck - waving to York from North Yorkshire:))

gplearner- thats what i do already but with a bath hand towl :) thanks for you help though :)
