Hi all, nice to meet you, hope you can help? I have a Walter Harrissons Barrowdale Hutch for my guinea pigs and at the moment am using tarpulin to cover it. I am worried about them getting cold as the nights get colder and will be moving them into our unused garage but I still wanna get a proper thermal cover for them. does anyone know where i can get one for this hutch? cant find it anywhere so far online. I'm worried about using the tarpulin does anyone else? keep worrying they will sufforcate tho its covering the hutch at the front not the back and has a gap from the floor. thanks for your help. (worrier mother here I apologise!) x

Sorry being stupid...is the size 97cms long? That's quite small unless of course it's temporary and you have another run or extension for a run area. Might be worth contacting viovet who might help in tracing a hugger.
Are you in the uk?
In terms of the tarp, as long as there is air getting in, but I'd recommend using plenty of hay, they will burrow into it.

Thank you. Still no luck with finding one. They have a lot of straw hope that helps in mean time. X

You can buy some cheap tarpaulin from Poundland which will keep the hutch 3 degrees warmer than freezing even when its snowing! For an higher price scratch and newton can make a hutch cover that can fit your hutch. As long as your guinea pigs have plenty of straw and hay, are in a sheltered area, garage and shedmthey should be okay. Snugglesafe heat pads are brill too.
I hope this helps!
