I have a can of peas that I ordered today, and I was wondering if these are good peas to give to my guinea pigs as pea flakes. It states that there is no salt, however, there is sugar. Is this okay, or should I wait to buy another type of pea instead? Thank you!
No they cannot eat them
They cannot eat any cooked, canned or frozen product.
They don’t need to eat peas at all.
Pea flakes are a specific product that you buy from a pet shop. They can be given as an occasional treat.
I’ve added an image of pea flakes which you can buy
I have made my own, you use dried yellow split peas. It's a process that takes 2 days and I got a blister from using pliers to squash each individual pea. Stick to buying them!
