There is no door between my living room and my piggie room although they are separate rooms separated by an archway. Do you think it would be ok to burn some unscented tea lights in the living room? I have some lovely morroccan style lanterns and it's a shame to never use them. I wouldn't burn them often maybe once or twice a week for an hour or so.

I am not an expert but I think an unscented tea light occasionally would be fine.
The one thing I would do is take it outside when you blow it out, as this is often when it generates a bit of smoke for a minute or two.

BTW the lamp is gorgeous and I would definitely want to use it too.

Thanks I thought it would be ok I just wanted a second opinion really. Thanks for the tip about blowing it out outside I'll make sure I do that.

First of all, GORGEOUS lamp.

Secondly, I agree with Swissgreys. As long as they are unscented there shouldn't really be a problem! Taking the lamp outside, holding it out of a window, or getting a wick dipper I think it's called when you put it out would be good as smoke can be an irritant to the respiratory system.

Tea lights should burn out on their own pretty quickly but bigger candles you might have to put out yourself. I'm old-school... blow out then lick fingers and pinch the wick. The kids think I'm hard as nails! Don't accidentally dip fingertips in molten wax because you'll know about it 😅

It is a fancy lamp isn't it! Are you going to pretend you've gone somewhere exotic?
