Hello lovely piggy owners, I'm new here but I'm looking for some advice for my little Trotsky. My spoilt little boy is 4 years old now, he was my first guinea pig and I'd be so lost without him! He's always been a very social piggy, cheeky and noisy and loves to be around me. 2 weeks ago I picked him up for a cuddle and noticed he had a small lump growing on his nipple, concerned about him I took him to a local vet who assured me it was probably just a skin tag but she'd prefer to remove it just to be on the safe side. The lump was removed under anaesthetic and he recovered from it quickly. When I went to pick him up the vet warned me that she 'didn't like the look' of the colour inside the growth but as it was now off that he would be fine. He's been eating and drinking and jumping around like his usual self. This morning, a week after his operation, I picked him up just to check he hasn't been chewing his stitches and I was horrified to find that there's now a bigger, round lump under his skin at the site of the stitches. It doesn't seem to be hurting him at all. It's mostly firm, but a little bit squishy and moves slightly when touched, it's about the size of a 5p coin. He's booked in for a follow up at the vet in a couple of days time but I'm going out of my mind here waiting. Is there a chance that it could just be swelling from the stitches or could this be something more serious?
