Can You Put Fleece In The Dryer?

I'm sure I've read that other piggie owners have put fleece in the drier and i't helps get rid of some of the fur off the fleece. Is this correct or was it just wishful thinking on my behalf and if I did put the fleece in the drier does it ruin the fleece and how long would I leave it in there?

I've put mine in the dryer once during a week long rain storm. In my opinion it was just as furry, and they shrunk But I know heaps of the other members dry theirs frequently.
