...3 boars together? Cuz I would like to have 3 pigs, but I have to boars which are due to be neutered, I'm guessing I still won't be able to put a sow in there with them, but can I get another boar?

Trios of boys can work but are rare. Three young boys is doubtful as all will hit their teens at around the same age but older boars with a younger may work.
Why are you getting your boys neutered if not to live with girls?

Neutering stops the ability to father young but does not change a boars personality or stop dominant behaviour.

Yes and no :)

Trios and quads work best when all the piggies are all adults, as if you introduce a baby they'll more than likely fall out during the hormonal months.

Trios work on all the boars being laid back, or two laid back boys and one dominant, so the right personality is key. As well as laid back personalities, trios and quads need ALOT of space. It will not work with the three boars being kept in a small cage or hutch.

As well as a lot of space; time, money and consideration must be thoroughly thought through before introducing another boar if your two boars are laid back. These questions must be thought through before thinking of adding a third boar:

1) What happens if all three fall out? - Do you have spare hutches/ cages for the three boars , what will you do with them if they're not best buds will you put them with sows?Do you have enought pennies for this?
2) Do you have the time to introduce the third boar, patience is needed and introductions must be carefully planned.
3) Space, what cage/area/hutch/shed are you planning to house them in?

Here is some good threads/sites:

I'd strongly recommend contacting owners with trios/quads, rescues etc who have had experience if you are thinking of going ahead. :)

Ooo and another neautering wont change their behaviour :)

My boys are both 2 now, does that class as older if I got. Younger one? Or is it just not worth the risk?

And the vet recommended me to get them done.

Your vets recommendation is wrong. 2 years of age isn't older. I personally would leave them as a pair & do not get them neutered unless are wanting to pair each with a girl.
Neutering like any operation carries a risk. If your boys are happy as they are leave them be.

Actually. If you've no sows you wanted to house them with, neutering is absolutely unnecessary since it'll be so stressful for them and really, it doesn't even change their behaviour in the first place. I'd save the money if it's me, neutering male pigs aren't beneficial like doing it to rabbits (Reduce hormone etc.).

Hmm, actually, Aoi was introduced to my 4 baby boys when they were uh, 1 month old. Then Aaron was introduced when they're around 3 months old. Aoi was already 8 monthers when the 6s were formed.

Luckily for me, all of my boys don't have the urge of wanting to be dominants, and they gets put back in place by Aoi.

I've heard of a few people with trios of males :) Or even four or five a few times. :)

Like the other people said, no need to get them neutered if it's just boys :)

But if you added one girl, then the two boys would most likely fight over her.

Boys usually get on well when there are no girls around. But having three is a bit more risky than having two, so it's up to you really. Just be prepared that there's a chance that one day you might have to separate them if they fight.

Hmm...well...is there a rescue in my area? I drive so can travel within reason

I've had a group males that lived happily with each other - probably because they were all so laid back, which granted is rare. Plus they were litter mates which made it slightly easier. The problem with a trio is you can create a 2 to 1 scenario in which one piggie gets picked on.

For me the only reason why I can think your vet would suggest getting your boys done would be to prevent breeding from them full stop, even if you don't currently have sows. But other than that if your boars are happy together it seems like a waste of money and also a risk to your piggies to put them through it. I've not had my current boars done - one of them has health issues so it would be unfair and the other is heading up to 6 years old, plus it wouldn't achieve anything.

If you wanted new piggies it might be wiser to spend the money saved on not neutering for a new hutch and another pair of males or females. Chances are unless you can expand your current setup it might not be large enough to house 3 males together anyway.

You know that saying, two's company, three's a crowd? Well I tried a trio of boys, it went well for the first few months then a major fight later and I know have a pair and a single boy. If your boys are happy together I wouldn't risk it. You could end up with three single boys!
You only need to neuter if you're introducing a girl but you can't have a girl with more than one boy as they will fight over her.

I am gonna cancel my op for wedneday :)

Also, I might just, rather than expand and make a two tier cage I may just make it as two cages one on top of the other and get another pair of boys, cuz if I put sows In there I'm sure itd drive my boys wild. :)

I'm so glad you're going to cancel the ops.

I think your idea to give a home to another pair of boys is wonderful & it's a far more rewarding way to spend your money :)
