Can you encourage a pig to mess in a certain place?

For some silly reason my guinea pig mocha always poops the most in the corner where her water bottle is! I've tried moving it and she just goes in the corner whereever it is. is there anyway I can discourage this or encourage her to go somewhere else?

Guinea pigs like a toilet corner where they can either munch on hay or drink some water - it's probably the drips from the bottle that have attracted her to it.

Why not make the best of it and put a toilet tray by the bottle?

I don't know your set-up, but I have an indoors cage with fleece. For the toilet I've bought some plastic rabbit corners which are easy to take out and clean. you can use newspaper and hay or megazorb or anything absorbent to fill them. I usually put a layer of hay on top and more in one corner.

If you have a hutch, just put an extra wad of newspaper where she decides to have her toilet spots. You will find that many piggies are quite tidy and are peeing only in certain spots. Many also have their pooing places, though never exclusively.

I have an indoor cage that I am currently constantly changing the set up of cause this is my first guinea pig and I am still learning. I actually have wood shavings right now which I realize are not the greatest to have. Next time I go to the city I am going to buy some fleece. Would the shavings work ok for the toilet tray?

I still use woodchips for the toilet tray as well - they simply are the best at absorbing and neutralising odours. As my cages are in the living room that IS a consideration!
