Hello everyone! I have recently started letting Eddie out for lawn time (I’m up to 15 minutes a day) and wanted to know if he is a risk of getting sunburn on his pink ears. He always has places to go if he wants shade, but I find he likes lying in direct sunlight and munching away. Does anyone have experience with a sunburned piggy? If so, how can I prevent it? Special sunscreen maybe?
Thank you!😊

Yes piggies can get sunburn on their ears if they are pale coloured.
I haven't had a pale piggy in years, but I used to gently apply a small amount of high SPF cream designed specifically for babies and young children to her ears before I put her outside.
I would always supervise for the first 10 - 15 mins ot make sure her cage mate didn't try to lick it off, but they were always too busy munching to be bothered with it.
