Hello everyone!

I am looking for some reliable advice on how to clean my piggies' ears. They are not scratching them vigourously but they keep twitching their heads every so often as though there is something tickling inside. I'm worried as they both had mites a while ago and, although the mites are no longer on their fur, I think some might have got in to their ears! I was also wondering about general cleaning advice as well as I don't want this to be a recurring problem if I can help it.

All suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

Some gps excrete too much ear wax and this can build up and attract mites. The best way to clean is to use warm olive oil on a cotton bud.Just clean round the rim of the ear.Do not put the cotton bud into the ear and be careful not to let the oil drip into the ear canal. You will probaly find that a lot of black wax will come away.If the pigs are prone to this, the ears should be cleaned about once every 10 days.

Thanks! I will give that a go! Like I said, it doesn't seem to be a big problem at the moment but I want to get to it before it does become bad...

Will let you know how we get along...
