I mowed the lawn yesterday (i know the piggies will hate me) 8...
I gave them some grass first though ;)
is it okay for them to go out on a freshly cut lawn today?
it's quite hot out so i will put them out later this evening for some fresh air when it's cooler

I think so long as the mower collects the cuttings they can, but if the cuttings are left on the lawn and they eat them then it can cause harm.

oh no! i've been giving all of mine a handful of cut grass in the runs everyday! they've eaten all of it and have been for a week now! :...:...:...

what will it do to them, any side efects i should be looking out for? ?/

I mean the cutting from the lawn mover, you know the clumps of grass the lawn mower leaves behind, i am sure i read somewhere they shouldn't have these? But grass cut with scissors is fine.

x

Same I've read somewhere that they can't have the grass that the lawn mower has cut but they can have some picked by hand or go outside! Just make sure there aren't any grass cuttings left on your lawn!?x

is it ok to dry out the cuttings to make hay?

No. Unfortunately, the messy lawn mower cut grass ferments very quickly. You will find that most piggies will turn their nose up anyway.

Hand picked or scissor grass hasn't does not ferment as the cuts are much neater and the grass blades are not stuck together. Using your scissors to keep the edges tidy is a good way to feed the piggies on those days they can't go out, by the way...

OOPS! i cut the lawn on sunday and have been turning the cut grass over until it dried out (it smelt really nice) and gave it to the pargs! :...
they wolfed it down though and seemed to really enjoy it. that was a few days ago and they seem fine, do you think they'll be ok? :...

thanks all
i have a hover mower so it picks up all the grass cuttings
i shall get them out today :))
they have been in the indoor run but i was afraid to put them outdoors because i had cut the grass rolleyes
