Hoping those with C&C experience can answer this quite easily.

I want to create a large indoor run for our piggies - I can't let them be completely loose without either me or OH there are there are too many unsafe things to chew (wires and children's toys) and I can't guarantee a small child won't want something while they are out that means I need to leave the room which exposes the piggies to risk or means I can't deal with child quickly enough as need to put piggies away first.

We've got lots of floor space so can make something pretty big and that's what I'd like to do to allow them as near free range as we can but it will then need to be able to be moved out of the way when not in use.

I think the folding concept like you see with outdoor runs would do the trick.

Is this possible to create with c&c grids and connectors?

Yes, I've done this by cable tying the 4 sides then you just clip them together with the plastic connectors. Easiest way to do it is fit the run together then cable tie all the grids together apart from the corner ones. I join then at the 2nd squares from the top & bottom.

This should be possible with some clips that a member found a few weeks ago! @GloriousGuineaGirl can you help? I think it was you that had hinge clips.
Hey yes you can buy Hinge clips.. I was fortunate to aquire some with the c& c grids I bought from a guy on Ebay. I have no more left however but they do act as a solid hinge and are safe with no sharp edges and way easier than using cable ties etc ( although this is a tried andtested method!)

I did add pictures of these to a thread please see this thread and scroll down and you will see my postings. I will also have a look to see if I can source some for you :)

@GloriousGuineaGirl don't suppose you happened to find these for sale anywhere? Even having looked at the photos in the thread you kindly linked to, I've still failed miserably to find any.

Was it a private seller on ebay that you got them from or a business?

I really don't like cable ties so really want to avoid them if I can.

Anyone else with c&c experience with any other alternative ideas?

Hey, I'd be very interested in knowing who this seller is as I am currently looking all over the web for some grids and correx. Would you be able to give me some indication as to how I can find him on eBay. So many storage cubes come up when I search and as a newbie myself I get confused :) thanks

He hasn't got any listings on ebay atm but I will post his email. His name is Alan Huntley. When you email him can you tell him Stephanie from ebay passed on his details as didn't hear anything via ebay. He supplied me with all my grids, correx ( he also cut it to size ready) amd was alot cheaper than anywhere else. He made my ramps too

Quick update. My grids arrived yesterday so yesterday evening I started to have a go with the hinge clips.

Clipping them onto the first grid was easy. I just put the hinge clip on the floor and pushed down on the grid so it clipped into it.

Getting the second grid into the same hinge clip was not so easy. Obviously you have to slide the first grid over to one side of the hinge clip. That wasn't hard but getting the second grid in I found I couldn't use the same method as I'd used for the first as it just wouldn't clip down in. I broke a couple of the hinge clips this way too.

I had some success holding the 2 grids at a 45 degree angle to each other and using my thumb to push the hinge clip round onto the second grid but it was still a struggle and hurt my fingers. I have got double jointed thumbs and I don't think that helped as I don't have the same resistance in them when pushing as those who don't have the double joint.

I failed miserably at attaching more than 2 grids in a row using hinge clips - that just seemed impossible when I tried. I need though to attach 4 in a row at least (preferably 6) to make a folding run as I have it in my mind.

Does anyone have any good tips on how to easily put the hinge clips on? :ple:
