Can I paint C&C grids

Well planning on making my room with a white and light green theme. Only problem is my C&C grids are black! I have found white correx and white grids but just wondering if I could use metal spray paint on the ones I have now. To help save money

No, if your guinea pigs chew the bars the paint will come off and could harm them.

i know some people have used certain spray paints for other things, but I'm not sure if the ones people have used before would stick to the bars and not just peel off ? there must be some sort of paint/coating on the bars in the first place so I'm sure there's something that isn't harmful out there !
