hey erm, sorry if this is a daft thread but I thought I'd make it as I'm worried about getting my friend banned from the forum 8...

Rawr, told me to the join the site and with me not having a computer she lets me use hers when I pop over

Rawr recently got told that multiple accounts aren't allowed and that we could get banned as we would be postng from the same IP address?

I made a booboo earlier and posted to a thread I started as her - I edited the post to apologise for any misunderstandings and explained I was on rawr's computer

I'm not good with computers and not to sure what this means, but, by me logging onto the forum from her computer can I get her banned?

The mods will be able to help. But why can't you log in from her computer under your own user name? Both myself and my daughter log in from this one and hers without problem. If you want to post, just become a member yourself. All welcome! xx

If you are logging in as yourself but from Rawr's computer, you will have the same IP address therefore could look like Rawr has two accounts. If this is against the forum rules, it will be because people might be trying to cause havoc and upset other members by posting under different names, but I'm sure if you contact the moderators and explain the situation, they will understand.

:)p

my hubby and I both have accounts from same IP address. Nothing's happened to us thus far!

She said it was an accident, it wasn't malicious.

It looks like there is a bit of confusion on what the situation is:

You can have more than one account from more than one IP address. For example, my husband and I share our home IP, so naturally we have two accounts registered to the same IP.

Also, a member can have an account which appears from multiple IP addresses - many of us use our accounts at work (in our lunchbreaks, naturally! ;) ) so if you log in at home, then log in from work then two IP addresses will be registered etc.

So as long as you make sure that you sign in with your own ID, then there shouldn't be a problem. It's easily done though, I have accidentally posted as Marty before without checking he had logged out first!

I hope that helps to clarify!
