Can I cut vetbed myself?

I'm planning on switching over to vetbed... just wondering if it's possible to cut it myself or it's something that the manufacturer will have to do. I was planning on ordering slightly larger than what I need and then trimming the edges to fit, but I don't know how the backing works and am worried about cutting off edges causing liquids to leak or something.

This may be a really stupid question, but bear in mind I've never actually seen vetbed, it's not sold here in Canada unless you order online.

You can cut vet bed with scissors or a stanley knife. Some has a non slip rubber backing but it has lines of rubber so you can just cut underneath.
