My guinea-pigs live in hutches that aren't really that exciting for the guinea-pigs, just the normal square type hutches, and although they go in big runs every day I just wanted to make it a bit more exciting for them, by adding levels etc. I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sells ramp/split level type things that I can put in the hutches to add a split-level bit in part of the hutches?

Dont know if of any use, but I make my ramps out of the C&C grid cage things, bend in two into a Ushape.( theres supposed to be a space in front of the word shape, but when I try to type the letter on its own, it keeps coming up with a *!) I put scraps of old carpet to line the ramp and they are attached by cable ties.
I have a wire cage and have used an old shelf to make another level. Its just slotted through the bars.
But I guess if you put 4/6 screws/nails or something in the sides of the hutch with the heads facing inwards with say 1-2cm sticking out, you could cut an old/cheap shelf/piece of wood and rest it on the screws. Like you do with bookcase shelves.

when i had an upper level in my c&c i just cable tied two grids together and cable tied them to the edge all the way round of the cage to form the level. It was very secure and i just put a piece of plastic and towels on top, then a ramp made out of the grids bent into a ushape.

Ive thought about doing this loads of times but settled with a wooden house/hidey. Some of the piggies can jump on & off them too.

I orignally wanted 'another level' for example a wooden houses with ramps either side but nowhere sells them. Your best bet is if you know **** whos ** at diy to make 1 for you
