The plastic stuff is on it's way. I forgot what it's called. I want to build a cage which is big enough. I do have one concern, is there a chance of them escaping?

Yay, wel done, glad your going C&C, 2 x 4 will be big enough for 2 piggies. Its called correx, no they wont be able to escape, i use cable ties to hold my grids together, that way it is more sturdy xx

I've just built my C&C cage and put them in it last night for the first time. I kept getting up in the middle of the night to make sure they didn't escape.

It's so great having such an open cage but my neurotic guinea mama-ness gets the better of me :)

They definitely can't escape through the bars as for breaking through. My Gilbert spent ages trying to get through to the other guinea pigs cage before I put a block so he couldn't see them.

He DID manage to open the cage up by getting it out of the grid connecter but he didn't manage to get through as either side still had the connector and hes a much too chunky pig to fit through the small opening he made. So as long as your piggy isn't super determined to get through there will be no problem.
