I keep my four dear souls in a big hutch on the patio. It's well insulated and they're cosy enough but I can't wait for the good weather when I can give them some grass chomping time. Because the hutch is well wrapped up at night I wonder how much the girls can see in the dark? They always seem to have re-arranged their 'furniture' and eaten most of the enormous amount of hay I put on for insulation so I guess they must have some night vision. Does anyone have any info on this please ?

As far as I know piggies don't have good eyesight anyway. They detect movement more than discern details. They see some colours but they don't really see detail unless it's very close. I can't say whether their vision is any different in the dark. But they have excellent smell & hearing. I suspect smell is the reason they know exactly where their food & things are.
