My guinea pig has recently had 3 babies, 2 boys and 1 girl but one of the boys in particular is already showing signs of aggression at 2wks of age!? Do I need to worry or is this normal at such a young age? He is making aggressive noises and doing that slow bum wiggle walk whilst making the noises! No attacks on any of the other pigs yet but just really surpised to see this behaviour at 2 wks old!?

Please weigh your babies daily. We recommend to either separate at three weeks old or at 250g/8 1/2 oz of weight, whichever comes first.

You do not need to panic yet! Boar babies practice for a few days before their ammunition goes "live". Mommas usually come into season again around 15-17 days after giving birth. The pheromones tend to trigger off any well developed boar babies, so that is what is happening to your little boy right now. ;)

Ok, thanks for reply. I actually rehomed the guinea pig that gave birth to the babies completely unaware that she was pregnant so have been on google finding out as much info as poss. Know about all the reproduction ages and separation times but didn't expect the bad behavior just yet! Thankyou, :)

At least you can separate the two boys together, so they have each other for company, which will make the separation a lot easier on them, but you have to still brace yourself for a couple of days of bar gnawing and total heart-break before they settle down. Are you going to hang on to all babies?

We're keeping the girl and a friend is having the 2 brothers. Thanks for the advice.
