Can anyone recommend a good hutch

I don't know any good hutches from a shop but my piggie hutch is homemade and I definitely recommend making your own as it is so much cheaper and will last longer, and the wood will be much thicker than a store-bought hutch. Also, you can make it to your own design. :)

The Chartwell hutches are good quality, sturdy thick wood, will do well outside and stand up to the elements well.
I have a pets at home bluebell hutch, which is a lot cheaper and I have to say it shows that I didn’t pay a lot for it. Mine is permanently in a shed where my boys live so I don’t have to worry about it, but i don’t think it would withstand a lot of weather without causing rotting wood etc. It’s nice hutch though
I also have a really good hutch from petscorner stores. That was cheaper than the Chartwell but made with just the same quality as the Chartwell. It’s been outside housing my bunny for 7 years and it is still in really good shape

All my foster hutches are chartwell as IMO they are the best balance between price and quality.

Pets@home hutches do not weather well at all.

My main hutch is the Kendal Hutch-and-Run Combo, which I would not advise, but I have recently bought a second hutch to keep as a backup in the shed, should we ever need to bring the piggies in suddenly, and to use if we go away and need to leave them in someone else's care. This one is from Pet's Corner (branded 'Great and Small', I think), as mentioned by Piggies&buns above, and I am *so* impressed with the quality. It is such a solid build and the piggies clearly love it. I also think it is a very good price (we were on a tight budget). However, it will need two modifications if I ever put it outside. The metal grid, whilst admirably sturdy and strong, is definitely not rat-proof, the holes too wide, and so a layer of galvanised close-mesh wire would need to be added. The other thing is that the two doors just have wooden latches (albeit very sturdy ones) which you just swivel, rather than bolts. I understand that these are not fox-proof and so would need to be replaced by regular bolts. Both modifications are easily done and I would certainly buy this brand of hutch again, in a bigger version as their main hutch. I have been unable to find it online, however, and we bought it directly from our local PetsCorner.

I don't agree about the Chartwell I'm afraid. A split piece of plywood for the rear wall? Several panels of tongue and groove on my order had not been made correctly and even the replacement has the same fault. If you do buy flat packed every piece should be perfect. Just saying. Maybe I had bad luck? I strongly believe you get what you pay for when it comes down to hutches

Thats a shame :( Yes the rear wall is the one letdown of these. I agree there are much better on the market, but I think where price is a concern then they are certainly better than a lot of off the shelf hutches available.

Also have a problem with back wall on the Chartwell. Only had it a short while. Was okay when unpacked also note , the floor is a lot flimsier
than the previous Chartwell which had 2 levels. It was stronger so am a bit disappointed this time round. Also the instructions I found where somewhat lacking.
