Can anyone recommend a good but cheapish run?

I want to get a run for the boys but we may be moving house at some point so I don't want anything that isn't fairly light weight and easy to fold away or put out. With the weather being unpredicatable also, I want something I can get out if the suns out and put away if it changes suddenly. Also, I don't want to break the bank so under £40 would be best.

I was looking at this on zooplus, does anyone know if its any good or can recommend better?

The run would be for my two boys. I would only put them in it while I am around to watch them etc ... It would just be nice to share some of the space and fresh air with them.

That one would be ideal so you could store it away, and it's good value for money :)

You could even buy two and put them together to make a larger one. That's what I did with my Boredom Breaker ones as they're too small on their own, might as well keep them in their hutch/cage, the size of some runs I've seen!

How many piggies have you got?

I was in Pratts @ Home on Sunday and they have a covered run for around £40...cant remember exactly how much it was but it was around that price.

The only thing is that there is absolutely no protection from that netting on top and any cat could easily get in. I've got the larger one of these and I'd say they are worth the extra money. It's been out on the lawn all summer and stood up to the elements well.

That is a good point, those nets you get with them are completely useless, although I don't need a net on mine as the cats that come in our garden are next door's and they're used to small animals, though obviously not all are.

It would only be ideal if you can be with them outside for a few hours, or even be near a window you can keep watch of them, if there is any danger of a fox, cat or even a dog coming into the garden that isn't familiar with your pigs.

...or even a bird. Saw a sparrowhawk take a rat from our garden!

I don't live in a scummy place...honest!

Thanks guys. I'll keep looking and see what else is out there. Sometimes those metal ones can be very heavy and awkward to fold up. Not sure if I should get metal or wood frame.

Thanks for your help ... I may take a trip to P@H ... bit risky though with all those piggies faces staring up at me @) rolleyes

The one I bought recently is the best in my view although it cost more than you want to spend, it was £65. It is by Rabbit Shack and folds in seconds to resemble a deck-chair, it's unbelievable and lightweight, if you looked at some of my videos you will have seen it.

Sparrowhawks can't carry anything as heavy as a guinea-pig, unless it was a very tiny, young one. They can barely carry a starling which weigh very little, much less than a guinea-pig, so they would only do damage on the ground if one were to catch a pig.

Then again, birds of prey and cats have very good eyesight, they would be able to see netting, just probably not understand it's use, and could get caught up in it themselves.
