Can anyone help with determining whether these boys are neutered or not?

I took these boys in from lady that was rehoming. She got them from an animal rescue who I have been in touch with. She told me they were neutered, as the rescue told her the same. I have contacted the rescue and was told yes they are. I have my doubts and wondered if it was obvious from this image.

Black piggy is the same one

Hi and weclcome

Good on you for checking. No these boars don't look neutered to me. Those are fully descended testicles in a distended anal sac.

This is in comparison how a neutered boar with removed testicles looks like:
My Nye before his neutering o[ and two weeks after his neutering op with the anal sac shrunk down. The difference is unmistakeable. A neutered boar looks like essentially like an adult male baby.

If in any doubt, please have a vet double-check them with a hands-on examination.

My neutered boars have always been very flat around the testicular region whereas yours look to still have some roundness. You can look for evidence of scrotal or abdominal incisions. If in doubt, you can ask a vet to check them over for you or you could ask the rescue which vets they used and contact those vets for confirmation as to when they were neutered.

It’s quite unusual for a rescue to neuter boars and rehome a neutered pair together. Usually they are neutered and paired with sows. However, there are some rescues who routinely neuter all their boars. Do you know which rescue they came from?
