Can anyone explain this?

Hi all, hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.
My boys used to be fairly well toilet trained, they would tend to go in one corner on the pet pads and this was great. But then we made a large pen for them to live in, and put blankets down to protect the carpet. Then they started going everwhere which was a nightmare to keep clean! Yesterday we put soft lino down to help with the cleaning as it was getting smelly. Its very squishy and comfy but easy to wipe down. I got up this morning, and went to do the usual sweep and clean up but its immaculate! The boys have only toileted on the pads. Can anyone explain this?

maybe it was a bit cool on their boy bits? rolleyes

maybe they just didn't like the feel of it? they'll get used to it i'm sure

maybe it's because it smells unfamiliar, a lot of animals will toilet where they can smell they've been before x

If i keep on top of washing it down, do you think they will start using just the pads?
