Junior Guinea Pig
i have just had my third piggy boy die this year. My first one, Elliot was 6 and died of a suspected stroke but was very active and athletic prior to his sudden death.
Then, just over a month ago, my 3-year-old, Charlie died. Again, death was very sudden, and he was active and remained a healthy weight.
Yesterday, my 6 year old boy, Oscar died. As if two boys going weren't heartbreaking enough. Oscar showed his senior years in the last year or so but otherwise, again, a massive sudden shock and so I think with all three piggies crossing the bridge, it got me wondering if infections can be harboured in their homes.
I cleaned their hutch every other day, so cleanliness wasn't an issue, and it's a great hutch and so I would love my other piggy (who didn't live with them) to inherit it, but obviously if he's going to die too, I can't risk that. Mamma pig (me) has had enough heartbreak for one year.
