My guineas are outdoors at the moment but as my number will be increasing soon I wondered if it is possible to modify a Nero 4 to give more space? It's on a stand so has space underneath. If so how do I do this? I've read about c&c grids but what about ramps to next level :)

in the cage and hutch gallery there is one nero 3 or 4 cant really remember but it has c&c cage built underneath I'm not sure about a ramp though maybe some big pvc pipe with fleece on the inside for grip and elbows so you can change the angle its on?

Hi

If you manage to do this i would be really interested in seeing it.

I have a Nero 4 on a stand - but want a much bigger cage, so i'm planning on moving mine into the outdoor hutch.

There is a thread on here somewhere from someone who built a second cage under their Nero 4 with C&C's - but i think it was a separate cage, there was no ramp. I'm not sure how you could make a ramp cos it would need to be high and steep.

I'll watch with interest .....

I found the other thread - it's called "Nero 4 with Stand ...." and was started by Briony.

It did not have aramp though - it was just 2 separate cages.

How can we make a ramp ??

Thats what i am wondering. My pigs will use a steep ramp but i dont know about an enclosed one. Was thinking about wide plastic pipe with some kind of tread. Will have to ask engineer friend.

i have 2 nero4s in my tiny bedroom ! you could make a woodern ramp and put some rubbery underlay stuff on it for grip not sure if that helps good luck!

Yes I built it but couldn't even think how to make a ramp would be tricky the two cage parts were dead easy. Some advice though it is going to be 3 cubes long but will not fit if you use the connectors on each one. I had to just cable tie them and use connectors for the corners to make them fit. Also the sides if they are to fit entirely under the cage as mine do will need to be overlapped!

GOODLUCK

There are some excellent photos on here of people who have made more room in their Neros by putting an additional floor inside, with a ramp.
This is a good idea too cos most of the head room is wasted on the piggies.
I'm not sure about doing this, cos my Donut is massive and i think she'd feel a bit restricted. I am thinking about trying it though.

The thread was "Revamped Nero 3 " and was started by KAZ

I've spent the day looking at plant trays http://www.hydrohobby.co.uk/product/garland_titan_tray/ and C&C grids.... and also very wide flexible plastic tubing which I'm not sure if they would use. You can get clear ones so that you can see where they are. I would have to take it out of the front door of the nero 4 and then around the back to make a small gradient as possible. I'm a bit stumped.

I don't have the floor space to make a huge c&c cage but need something secure as I have a three year old daughter who has younger friends. Otherwise the pigs are going to be outside all year :(
