I have my cage on a low wooden unit, which I know for some if fine - but I would like to get a stand with wheels as I need to access my home office when working during the day and so will need to whizz the cage over to a different part of the room and then back again in the afternoon. It would also be handy for cleaning under too seeing as I am trying to keep everything hay free in order to secure a year round pass for the piggies living in the house :tu: (though come spring they will still have their huge shed to play in during the days when the grass is wet).

So having trawled the internet and found an assortment of stands I thought I'd ask if anyone has purchase one that their cage sits snuggly and safely onto?

Don't want to buy one to find out my cage won't fit properly.

So if you have this cage and have a stand that it sits on to recommend that would be wonderful! :luv:

Why don't you measure the base of your cage and I will measure the base of one of my ferplast ones. If they are of similar size you will know which ferplast one is compatible.

I have a Ferplast 120 cage and it fits well into this stand . The stand seems solid enough, the only thing is that the picture shows wheels but ours didn't come with them. I was going to contact them but I don't really need wheels so couldn't be bothered! The shelf part looks flimsy in the picture but it looks better in real life.

. That's the one I am thinking of, thanks for the review

here are the cage base dimensions - hope you can use metric, I have modeled it up to make it easier to view :):beer:skyline maxi xxl dimension.webp
so long as the top of the cage base is wider and longer than the frame of the stand, and the bottom of the cage base is smaller and shorter than the hole in the stand it should work fine - fingers crossed! :bronco:

edited to add the depth dimensions too

p.s. I am sticking up another thread in the housing area as I have been brainstorming connecting two cages together so may be looking at getting a ferplast 120 so that will solve the stand problem - but please let me know if this fits, if you can, as it still may be the way I am going :tu:

excellent - that sounds like is should be a match - I have been brainstorming and thinking about buying another cage to extend onto my skyline one for during the day - it might solve my stand problem if I bought the ferplast 120 and stand that goes with it - is that the make of your cage?

Maybe look out on eBay for a 2nd hand one. I won one for £20 on eBay.

right, going to purchase the one recommended by @Lolly as if it doesn't fit my cage I then have a great excuse to buy the ferplast 120! Cheers to @Davey-cavy too for measuring the base - next stop Amazon! :bronco:

edited to say - done! ordered that stand and will post a pic of my skyline cage on it when it arrives! :yahoo:

Don't worry, that was the only one that seemed suitable so I would have purchased anyway - will post a picture of either a: The cage sitting proudly on its new stand or b: My kitchen floor strewn with hay poop and piggies! Lol - will try without piggies first ;) all feedback was greatly appreciated though!

So the mystery of the "what stand fits the Skyline Maxi XXL cage" has been solved! :yahoo:

The amazon little friends stand has arrived and its FITS! yay! so thanks to @Davey-cavy for measuring the base and @Lolly for recommending the stand

- its totally sound, no wobble or anything and no way the cage base can slip through. Got joiners in so their mess is to the left but the piggies were whizzed on in here once they left - and no hay in rack as I've just cleaned the cage and its got a thick hay base covering so they are busy munching on that first  (featuring in this pic too is my £1 asda basin cut down to make a litter tray that Spud can easily access, and also the new mezzanine level which has some lovely sticks forming the balustrading - nice and adventurous looking!:bronco:

The stand shelf was a wee bit warped when it came which meant the legs were a bit at a wonky angle once assembled, but I gave it a squish and now everything is straight. Great stand for the price and I agree that the shelf is sturdy and handy :tu:

My OH walked in from work this evening and is now realising the enormity of his decision to allow me to let piggies stay in - think he broke into a sweat! The cage does look huge now its so high of the floor - must admit if I could just trim the legs down (back to coffee table height) a bit and still have wheels on the end it would be perfect!

All in all though another mission accomplished! :bal::cake:

No problem at all for measuring. I really fancy puttin my cage on a stand. Would it be possible to take a picture with the whole stand and cage in? Thank you.

@Davey-cavy here are the pics of the full stand - Lolly has the Ferplast 120 too and says that it fits this base well.
Its a dark grey powdered coated finish, I'm guessing a mild steel frame, and very sturdy.
