I'm looking for someone to build a double hutch for my boys - someone either based in the north west or has experience of transporting around the country. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, they only deliver locally. Would you consider paying a courier to deliver a hutch ?

I thought I would answer your thread, as I recently set up a small business making homes for small pets. I started off with homes for hamsters that met the RSPCA minimum size guidelines (hence the name of my business http://www.hamster-homes.com :-)), and have now expanded my range to offer 3 sizes, including a 120cmx60cm indoor cage for guinea pigs. I can also make custom sizes of my homes, or take on commissions, and I make a variety of little houses and accessories to suit different pets. I am based in Scotland, but can deliver anywhere in the UK at cost price.

Hi Kate - I love the look of your indoor hutches! Are you able to make even bigger sizes (150cm x 60cm)? If so, what sort of price would they be with mesh? Many thanks, Susie

Yes we can make bigger sizes, but it will perhaps just involve a bit of redesign, as a 5 foot version of the 4 foot hutch pictured in my avatar would be pretty heavy, and difficult to move about.
One option would be to use mesh panels on all sides (front, back and 2 sides) or perhaps just mesh on the front and back, with solid sides, and you could even dispense with the roof, so it looked a bit like a C&C cage?
Another C&C style option would be to use two of my 3 foot, or 4 foot drawer bases that could be placed side-by-side, length-to-length or in a corner formation, with a ladder ramp joining them together, and to put mesh panels round the sides. (This is something I have been thinking of offering for a while.)
Prices would depend on which option you went for above, but would start from around £140.

Alternatively it could be built in a similar way but mounted on wheels to allow for easy moving, so there are lots of options!
Note that the price quoted above excludes delivery where delivery price is heavily dependent on size of parcel, weight and postcode so I can give you a more exact quote if I have more info on your option preference.
