Hi, noticed that the same questions constantly arise, so wondered as most of us have a few cages/hutches which would you recommend (give name, sizes etc) and which would you avoid! and ones you may be looking at purchasing? Thought it may be easier than searching as much as we do. The best places for c&c grids, runs and the like..

[*]INDOOR:[/*]

worst:
cavie80 http://www.petsathome.com/shop/cavie-80-guinea-pig-cage-by-ferplast-15980 i didnt purchase this, it came with 2 foster girls.

best:
rabbit 120 (seen better but this is the best of the ones i have)

[*]OUTDOOR[/*]

Worst:
poppy den hutch by pets@home, fell to bits, leaked, mesh fell out, clasps broke

best::
rose cottage (although prefer the old design) http://www.petsathome.com/shop/rose-cottage-hutch-for-rabbits-and-guinea-pigs-by-pets-at-home-29286

and what i want.. cos i cant have a c&c..is the following one but the next size up:

I really like the Thistle Hall hutch from P@H, which is what my girls live in in the summer.This cost £80, but admittedly it was on sale reduced from £100, I think. It's lovely, apart from the fact that the hole which the ladder leads into is far too big for a pig, but a piece of wood over this easily fixes it. Sorry for my awful explanantion, but anyone with a double-decker hutch will know what I'm on about!

They have a C&C for the winter, I got the grids from Ebay (they are slightly different to the usual ones, but are still great). They cost £30 ish including packaging which was pretty cheap. There are 56 grids in the box, but they are are a bit smaller than the usual C&C grids. My C&C is 8x4 which equates to 5 foot by 2.5 foot, and I still have loaads of grids left over so when I get some more connectors, they can have a second floor :))

I haven't really had that much experience of bad hutches/cages, as I'm one of those people who will NEVER buy something on impulse, so alot of homework goes into my desicion making :))
