Hi, all my life I have wanted Guinea pigs so I've gave in and decided I'm going to get them. First of all I cannot afford all these c&c cages so don't suggest them please. I'm getting a 120 cm cage ( Indoor Rabbit Cage Guinea Pig Hutch Hay Rack Water Bottle House Accessories NEW ) and I just wounded how many pigs do u suggest I get? I will be at school 6 hours on weekdays but I will give them floor time before and after school. How many shall I get? Thanks X

That size is really only suitable for 2 I think, three wouldn't have enough space to get away from each other if needed. There's a really good sticky on cage sizes on here, but I've no idea how to link to it!

Two piggies in a 120cm cage no more as it is only big enough for two.

Have a read of this thread for other things you'll need Getting Guinea Pigs? Items You'll Need To Buy?

Cage sizes sticky is here Cage Size Guide

If ever you want to link to a sticky go onto the page then copy the address from the address bar and paste it :) Hope that helps

That's £15 more expensive then my huge c & c cage! But if you like it I'm sure it's ok. Yes there's s great page here about cage sizes. Good luck with your pigs! I wanted pigs for years too before I got mine recently :) :)

Iphones are very annoying for that. That'll be why. Good sound advice though so thanks :)

Where did u get your cage from?

I was going to say the same thing. I got my c and c cage off eBay for £35. It was called c and c starter kit. It's got enough connectors and grids to make a 6x3 cage and a 1x1 loft, which is big enough for about 4 possibly 5 piggies. But of course it doesn't have to be built that big.

And for the waterproof floor I used corex from eBay that was £10 but you could use tarpaulin which will do the same job but is only £2-£4. :)

However the cage you have suggested is fine, but only for 2 piggies and they would need lots of floor time to exercise.
