Hello all, I'm new here!
I was just wondering what are the best cages in the UK (affordable and expensive) on the market for 2 guinea pigs (apart from c&c cages).
I have heard that the midwest guinea habitat and ferplast 120 & 140 are good.
So.. apart from these are there any other good cages?
Thank you :)

Hello :wel:

What are you intending to house? Boys or girls? I have had two boys in the ferplast 120 and it was nowhere near big enough, as boys need two of everything to stop fights so two hideys two food bowls etc I went to c&c 2x4 for each of my pairs but they are all now been housed in custom built cages that we have built, the last 3 should be finished soon. Here are a few pics of the setups I've had:-

They look great by the way! I'm not sure yet if I am getting girls or boys yet.
Just been thinking might consider getting the a c&c cage instead.
Thank you for the help :)

I have a 154 cage for my boys and love it.Loads of space for them.It was expensive.Cages world has some good cages.

I would get at least a 5ft by 2ft. There's lots of nice ones on Amazon at the minute, I just made my own- I copied the piggypigpigs diy idea except I used contiboard instead of shelves for the sides and I used the 200cm x60cm table base. I haven't done a loft yet and it's cost £83 so far but took only 2 hrs in total. I'm not 100% sure I'll add a loft yet. Here's a pic of my cage and a link to the video where Laura from piggypigpigs explains how she made hers

Thank you :D I love Ted and chewys new home!
Yeah I would definately recommend c&c you get so much more room for your piggies and can create a shape to fit where you need :D you could always look at building your own at a later point if you wanted, I think practically everybody here chops and changes their set ups to suit their piggies we are always looking for better things :)) I will warn you piggies are very addictive :inn:

Hi @Anarchybmc ...I love your custom built cage. ... it looks perfect. Was it built for you or you built it yourself. Was it very expensive?

Hey, :) we built it ourselves the design was changed a lot as we went though so we probably spent around £250 building it at a rough guess. The three that we are building now are less complex though so I think they cost about £200 for all 3! I will post pics of them in a couple of days in the homemade cages section :) can't wait for them to be finished!xx

I'm very jealous. ... wouldn't know where to start! Not my area I'm afraid n certainly not my hubby's. .. he put the flat pack together for the outside hutch but that was defo his limit...he just hates any mess smell or fur

I adapted midwests into an industrial shelf unit, its got wheels on for moving, & i have made the fronts so they fully open for cleaning, midwest is 47 ins long so i used extra panel in centre to extend to 58 ins, I made corex liners but the shelves are 24 ins deep so could/can use the midwest Green one14317532_10205978708140678_8629398838486562064_n.webp
