Can anyone please recommend a good cage for 3 piggies(mum and 2 babies) at least 120 cm long. Also thinking of housing my older 2 girls in same area, but limited to floor space enough for 1 good sized cage so was wondering if anyone has had a two tiered cage and successfully seperated into 2 cages ,as the older girls do not get on with mum and babies.wondering how to seal area on top tier where ramp goes down to bottom cage,so its a safe solid floor ?

thanks x

What about building a C & C cage.

This is mine it has 3 floors, Although at one point it housed 2 single side by side pigs on the bottom.

Now, I have 3 floors with 2 pigs in each. (Although the top piga had to be separated.

We're now back to the first design with no divide. The divide was only for a short period I then extended the bottom of the cage, as the top picture was not enough room for 1 pig each.

aw thanks for the suggestion but my 2 older girls are in c c cage(5 x 2) but although nice and roomy i find its not particularly sturdy and easily comes undone, and the area they are going to be housed is in hallway with my dog back and forth so need to make sure they are safely housed
thanks x

I've got dogs too so have the same issues.

I use this 120cm cage (Essegi Baffy 2-storied)

I have 5 piggies in it and they move between the floors happily. I did have to file some sharp edges though and make sides for the long ramp.

To use it without the ramp - keeping your 2 sets apart you could put a bit of correx or something across the top level covering the hole - I used mine like that initially (before 2 became 5) and had a full length size of correx which did the job. The main thing would be to make sure whatever you cover it with cant move aside and open the hole up which is why I used a long and wide bit....if that makes sense.....

thanks, funny enough was looking at that cage ,also it has some money off at moment which is always good thing.hubby suggested he could glue a peice of correx underneath but could use correx from existing cage .did you just slot in place and what about cleaning is that awkward or do you just take out length of correx(when you do proper clean out )
there is enough room then ? because the babies only 4 weeks old and very energetic.

sorry to bombard you with questions x

I used a bit of correx almost the full size of the base. I didnt glue it as even if it moved the hole was still covered (might be a problem if somehow your piggies could get under it though - not sure if that would be possible though - might depend on what you have your piggies on eg ). For a big clean I just removed everything - correx included.

Its easy enough to clean - I now use the cage for 5 adults and I use the ramps and fleece liners - I just shake them all out and hover up the poop.... reach in with cage cleaner spray and kitchen roll.... and for a big clean take the top cage and shelf off. The sharp edges were originally shredding my arms but a bit of sandpaper soon sorted that.

Hope this helps and no problems re the questions - ask away :)
