I currently have 1 boar in a Ferplast Cavie 80!

I originally got 2 piggies, but as babes they seemed fine! However, having lost 1 of the pair and quite a few months on, the remaining piggy has grown quite a bit!

As he recovers from his 'personal op' I'm hoping to find him some company but am worried about cage/enclosure sizes. Would love a C&C, seen some amazing ones on here, but I just don't have the room. Any ideas? ?/ Especially when I want to rehome one and will need a home inspection!:{

(The gp we have is not in this cage 24/7, he comes out for cuddles and runs)

The great thing about C & C is you can build up... Would that be an option? For 2 pigs you would be looking a 2 x 4.

How big is your cage?

Here's a 4ft X 2ft one for £35. :) That should be big enough.

Or you could try attaching an exercise pen to your existing cage. There are some pretty cheap ones on zooplus. Not sure if these would be suitable for you, but some are only around £20. Might not have lids (don't know if you have cats or dogs around) or doors to connect to the hutch though.

Good luck with your homecheck and your boar getting over his op :)

I'm not sure, because it's the floor space I'm short on! The cage at the moment is on top of drawers/sideboard in living room and being in a small terraced house, space is something we're short of! :0

A C & C cage could go ontop of draws providing there big enough.

The minimum recommended space for 2 pigs is 4ft x 2ft- approx 122cm x 61cm, so the cage you have now is definitely too small. I had a ferplast 100 when I got my pigs as I was told it was more than big enough by pet shops but realised quickly that it wasn't going to work. I have a c & c now as I have room. The zooplus cage CiaraPatricia mentioned is a good buy and probably the minimum you should go for. The link didn't work for me but I think this is the one she means

Hi I've got a smaller cage than I like due to p@h advising ferplast 100 was ok for 2. Due to where the cage is I'm struggling to fit anything bigger at the moment. I have however got a large wooden collapsible run that is set up in the front room which they go in all day on fleece and then popped back into the cage at night - would this be another option for you? Today they have been out from 9am - 8:30pm, then they have had free run of the front room and are still out now ! :)):)). What flooring have you got, I have laminate but I put a cat litter tray down full of hay with a hay rack over, keeps the fleece dry and clean?

The only reason I got laminate was for the piggies its amazing and so easily sweeped :)!

I was looking at this cage last week, alongside the cavy 120 (think it has the burgundy base), that is huge too, but with the one in the link, I was unsure of the opening. The one I have my two in just at night is really to small as it was the one I used for Daisy when she was poorly.

We have a large house, but still have a **** where to put a bigger cage, so I'm toying with moving things at the mo, to buy one of these bigger cages just mentioned.

Does this cage have a good front opening space Flips? The one I have at the mo, opens right up and back, it's excellent for catching nippy Dotty. ;)

I bought that cage as a backup cage incase my pigs are poorly. It has a large opening on the lid, so getting the pigs out shouldn't be a problem. We had 2 adult pigs in for 1 week before we managed to bond them with our other 3 pigs and we personally didn't feel it was big enough as once you have their houses and bowls in there isn't a great deal of space. This being said it does meet the minimum requirements and it probably only looked so small to us because we had it next to our 4x3 c&c which was obviously huge in comparison

I haven't seen the zooplus cage up in real life (!) so Gems info is more useful.

Ferplast do a similar sized one but it's obviously more expensive.

I think about the biggest indoor cage is the Trixie 150. I believe someone on the forum said Jolleys (?) sold them for under a hundred pounds (we don't have that store near me). Also both the 140 and 150 sizes have been successfully adapted by forum members to adda mezzanine level. If you want any bigger, you'll probably have to build it yourself.

:)

I have carpet in my living room, but could possibly get a piece of lino!?

If you have friends or visitors round do put the gps back in their cage? Am worried that maybe seen as mean!?:{
