Hi All!

Just a quick question, I have a gorgeous 6ft hutch and I would love to gift it to my friend who owns piggies as my family would like to be rid of it for more space after my three piggies passed a few months ago from a very nasty respiratory infection

It has been cleaned and airing now for nearly 3 months, I’m just wondering if it’ll be safe to gift her and no viruses or bacteria will still be living in there! There were 3 very ill and mucussy pigs living in there, so I just want some advice as I don’t want her pigs getting i’ll of course!

Thank you <33

That’s lovely of you to gift it to your friend. I'm
sorry you lost your pigs.

After a long time empty it is probably fine now but if have some F10 or if your friend does, then disinfecting it with that would make very sure (nothing survives F10!).
I give all my hutches a deep clean with F10 roughly every six weeks or so as routine.
