What do people use to stand their cages on?

I have got a whole dining room that i can use for guinea pigs and want to make a large cage well off the floor to save my back and so that if the dogs did accidently get in to the room Mistletoe and Jingle would be well out of reach.

Pictures are very welcome!

IMG_0641.webp My 2x6 c&c cage is on a "6ft folding banquet table" i have had to put grids on the base of my cage so it can sit on the table and it over hangs by 1/2 a grid each end but it's not a problem. Also my mother in law helped me to put curtains from table cloth along the bottom so I can hide their food spare liners etc underneath. (Fudges cage is on the left it's not been done yet)

This is an old picture as In this pic the 2x6 is still divided as Buddy and Peanut were separated when it was taken. (Just noticed that.) lol

I have a nine foot space available (just over) so hoping to do a nine by two (any wider and I cant reach in to clean them out)!

Going to order tables today. Eeek excited.

Cant find any tables that are only two foot wide. Very annoying.

Can you reach the far side of your set up Julie?

Yes I can reach in. The back corner is a little harder but I can reach if I move Fudges cage over. My c&c fits perfectly width wise on the table with grids on the base of the cage.

I am 5ft 5inches. If you're having trouble reaching you could use a wee folding stepping stool. They honestly fit on those tables if you put a base of grids on the cage.

That looks really neat claire.

Glad it is possible to reach julie. Still dithering about ordering the tables. Really want to make a wood and plexiglass cage ... Anyway got those solid shoe rack grid things for now.
