Cage Sizes?

Hi all,

Just wondering if a 3x4 c&c cage with a 3x1 loft would be sufficient space for 3 female piggies?

I think so. In terms of grids, a 4x3 is equivent to 6x2 ?

I’m very impressed that your pigs stay in that - mine would jump/shive their way out in about 4 seconds flat!

Yep I would be worried if my pig chewed through the cardboard

Mine would just jump over the lower boxes or shove any of it out of the way! They’re really strong (for tiny animals) and even try to shove me if I’m in their way

Mine too. More than happy to shove anything out of the way. One managed to move a largish cardboard box that her sister was sitting in.

Well the truth is mine are very capable of going over the boxes when they are willing to and they are meeegggaa strong ( they can knock over a heavy big wooden box with other piggies inside) but they usually Don’t want to go outside as they don’t like the hard floor and they feel scared in such an open space. At night we put them into their cages anyway (1meter x 1,5 meters) so I have no fear that they might escape. Once we had a cupboard there and the pigs kept making their way through to under the cupboard, however hard I tried to prevent them.

By the way the pen is actually 3 meters x 2 meters not 1,5 m x 2m ( accidentally wrote the wrong measurements)

Mine don’t go into the kitchen even though the door stays open a lot of the time and they know thats where the lettuce lives, I guess it’s similar; they don’t like the smooth cold floor!

Oh I soppose they don’t like the floor because of their long nails (it would be hard to walk)
