So I have 3 guinea pigs. Chewbacca and Han Solo are bonded and in one cage. Agent Nibbles is in a separate cage. I haven't introduced them yet, and I understand they might not ever actually get along, which is okay!

But my question is, in the event that they don't get along, would it be best to keep them in two separate cages as they are, or would it be worthwhile to buy one BIG cage with a divider there, and have them situated like that?

I ask because it would be a little easier to clean and a little prettier aesthetically to just get them all in one cage with a divider. Also, if I do that, I can get the cage now, and if they get along then blam, they already have a new shared cage, and if they don't, I can put in the divider. On the other side, if it's best to keep them in two separate cages, then I really don't want to buy the new cage until after we've established that they might get along.

What do you guys think? >_O

I agree - a large cage with a divider. They can have what some people call a chatting wall then ..

I have 2 pairs in a large cage with a divider.
It is much easier to clean that 2 separate cages, and my guinea pigs do seem to enjoy the interaction through the bars (sometimes!).
They were already in a C&C when they fell out, so it was useful to be able to separate them immediately with a couple of grids.

A large cage with divider would be nice, then at least the lone boar would have company, just not the ability to fight with that company :)

Right now I have the lone boar in a wire cage on top of the other cage, and so there is a little bit of company between them (which I only realized because he had stopped eating from loneliness/depression before we got the new ones, and now he's back to normal!).

This is sounding good though, I'll go ahead and work on getting the new cage!

Have any of you have any issues with like... fighting through the divider or anything? That was my only real worry, in the event there's a fallout!
