Hello everybody! For my new piggies, I was wondering about cage size. How many feet per guinea pig is needed? The reason I'm asking about per guinea pig is because I'm getting one first and then another. Thanks!

PS please use feet and inches and stuff because I am from america and we don't use the metric system. Thanks again!

7.5 square feet is good for one or two guinea pigs but 10.5 is the best. Usually sows need less room than boars. A 2x4 C&C cage is pretty much the standard for two guinea pigs. 30" x 36" is the standard in actual dimensions. Remember more is always better!

(PS. Any extra 'floors' do not compensate for any missing space. They're extras and do not factor into your general space. For example if you have a 30" x 25" cage and have a 14" x 7" loft does not make your cage suddenly 44" x 32" and suitable. This is a common mistake.)
