Hi everyone!

We have 2 guinea pigs and after doing some research I'm just after some advice. Due to lack of space in their house we can't fit a rectangular enclosure anywhere. I always adored the C&C cages, but it's just not a possibilty. Now the piggies are in a homemade enclosure in the big space under the stairs (no door, just open space). The size of their home is 100cmx100cm. All I can find is that the minimum size of a cage is 120x60 though and it worries me. I know ours isn't long enough, but it's much wider so bigger square footage.

Any advice? I'm feeling rather guilty about it, but maybe I'm worrying for nothing?

They can run in the house freely when we're home and I also have a huge play pen for them to go in during the day if we go out.
Added a picture for clarity.

No, don't feel guilty! A c&c Is the best but you have stated you can't get one. If you only keep your piggies in here when you are sleeping or at work/school it should be ok! Just make sure you give them lap time and a free range when you can give it to them:cool:

Giving them lots of free run away from the cage probably makes up for it, and 100x100 is possibly better than 120x60, but I'm no expert. I think you're okay actually, especially if they have plenty of free run time.

100 x 100 is a good size for two pigs. It's 20 cm shorter but you've got 40 cm extra on the other size so don't worry! :) it looks great.
