This isn't something I thinking about for me personally (well at least not at the moment lol) but more in a general sence of wonder but how big would a cage have to be for a larger herd? Like 6/7/8 Guinea pigs? Or maybe even 10? I was looking at the C&C website and they tell you the sizing for 4 but was wondering what size it would be for larger groups. Now I've gone and got myself wanting a large herd :)) shall have to be on my list for when I move into my own place.

I have a 6 (was 7) in a 4.5metres by 0.75m one level pen.

For a large herd you are talking enclosure or pen rather than cage.

i work on the basis that for:

1 a 3x2
2 a 4x2
3 a 5x2
4 a 6x2

so basically for each extra piggy add a grid :)

but as Lisa said once they start to get bigger they are pens not cages

16 of my piggles live in a 10x6 shed (not all of it as we have a small storage bit). They get more than the grid equation for working out space though so there's plenty of room for them all (and a couple more should I decide I'd like to expand... again! :x).

You'd definitely need a pen though! Or a spare room if you've got one. There's just no other way to do it once you hit 8 or so pigs - even giant hutches aren't possible!
