Hi.

I was hoping you guys can advise me in cm (sorry, no good in inches!) the length and width of cage that will be good for 2 piggies.

Fingers crossed i will be able to successfully bond Bumble x) with Jen's petshop rescue little boy x) so am trying to plan ahead !

Any particular recommendations of make?

Many thanks

Sally and Bumble x

You will need a minimum of 2x4 ft (60x120 cm), but if you can provide more, it would be better for two boys - space is a key factor and the more you have, the better!

You can find cages on here: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages

The alternative would be a C&C cage, selfmade from grids - it is ceaper and allows you more freedom with the layout.
Cheap grids (usually in packs of seventeen) you can find on ebay (this is the cheapest provider):

Correx/corroplast for the trays you can source from local signmakers via the yellow pages.

Ideas for lay-out you can find in the housing section; have a look at the cgae/hutch gallery!

The minimum recommended size is 120cm x 60cm for 2. I bought a 119cm x 59cm cage from The Range but have seen Ferplast 120 & Ferplast 140 cages online & in independant pet shops & Pets at Home have their Nero 4 which is suitable for 2 piggies :)

I've got a Trixie Rabbit 150 indoor cage for 2 pigs. It's the biggest commercial indoor cage you can buy at just shy of 5ft long (it cost me £97 from Jollye's). It's about the same size as a 2x4 C&C grid cage. I actually think the C&C cages are better because you can decide exactly how you want to build it but a commercial cage suited my situation better.
