Hello! I haven’t boughten any guinea pigs yet but i’m going too soon! (once i’m prepared and have money saved up) I was just wondering if 55 inches (US) length. AND 24 inches (US) wide. Was big enough for two piggies. I can attempt to add but i’m really hoping it is! I just want them to be happy so i figured id ask! thank you! 🐹

Welcome to the forum

It’s a little over minimum size for two sows.
Sows need 48x24 inches as a minimum, with the recommended cage size for two sows being 60x24 inches.

It is not big enough for two boars though - two boars need 72x24 inches.

This collection of guides will help you with lots of useful information about their care and requirements.
Make sure to also have plenty saved up in a vet fund for emergency vet visits.

Good on you for doing research c:

You'll find a lot of helpful guides on this forum. Definitely check out the food recommendations; what to give, what not to give, what to limit. At first I was confused by pet shops selling salt wheels and sugary muesli sticks, a guinea shouldn't even have access to these things.

Happy browsing!
