Hello, this morning I introduced my neutered male Guinea pig to my two females. I needed to get my boys out of their makeshift cages as they where to small (3x2) and got dirty really quickly. I’m just wondering if there’s anything I should change about the setups?
My lone male is on the left and the neutered male and my two girls are on the right.
Thank you :)

My biggest worry here is the time which has passed since his neutering. From previous posts, he was neutered on 23 March(?)
This means he is only just over 3 weeks post surgery so is not safe to be with sows yet.
While fertility decreases in the weeks post surgery, semen does remain in the tubes post neuter and it is enough to have the potential to still cause pregnancies.
You must wait a full six weeks after neutering before putting a boar with sows. In your case, your boar is not 100% safe to be with sows until 4 May.

I would suggest you remove him and put him into his own cage immediately and you should also put the females on pregnancy watch. With any luck nothing has happened but you cannot be sure until the next 10 weeks of pregnancy watch has passed.

The guide below contains all the details of neutering

So sorry I didn't see these replies earlier, I had read that it was fine to introduce them at 4 weeks but now that I know I was wrong I will definitely wait for a full 6 weeks before introducing my other boar once he's neutered. But the three have been getting along great, this is the most relaxed I've ever seen him ❤️

You will need to make sure the girls are on pregnancy watch given they weren’t separated.

Who are you introducing the other boar to when he is neutered?
He cannot go in the cage with the other boar and his two sows. You cant keep two neutered boars in a cage with sows as the boars will fight.

The sows would need to be split up and live with a boar each so there is one neutered boar and one sow in each cage.

I have been watching my girls and we will bring them into the vet at the first sign of pregnancy.
I’m either going to get a third girl or split mine up. I really don’t want to split the three of them up though as they’ve been so happy together.

This is the pregnancy guide which will help you.
Fingers crossed they aren’t pregnant.

As I said he is still not safe to be with him (4 May is his safe date)
