Hello!
I've just got a C&C cage for my piggies and so far they're loving it, apart from the upstairs. I know a lot of people have problems with piggies going up them but mine is only half a problem really. In the old cage, my pigs would parkour over the ramp that connected their Rabbit 120 to their run but now they hardly touch the new ramp.
I managed to lure Lola, the more dominant, up the ramp with some veggies and now she goes up and down fine, munching away in the kitchen area and having all sorts of fun. Florence, on the other hand, will not use the ramp. I know she can use it because she's gone down it after I put her up there to show her there was good stuff up the ramp but now she will only go half way up and then reverse back down and hide. When Lola is up there, she can hear her plodding around and just wheeks frantically until Lola comes back down.
I was just wondering how other people got their more scaredy piggies up the ramps? I've put fleece on there so it's nice to grip, my only other thought was to maybe find some guttering to cover it over the top like a tunnel so she didn't feel so vulnerable? Or should I give it time? The upstairs is their kitchen area so they have more room downstairs to run but I've ended up putting hay and food and litter boxes all downstairs now because Florence won't go up. I wish Lola would tell her how awesome it is up there!
