Where do you guys have your cages?

I am wondering where to put mine, going to be on a stand to avoid my puppy lol am thinking my office as i can lock the door from the cats when i am not there and have another cage in the living room for when i am home. That way there involved.

Let me know what you think

I have my babies who are indoors at the mo in the room that lead from the sitting room to the kitchen as we constantly walk past and their play area is in the sitting room. I had them in a quiet room, but they were really skittish, and have come on loads since we moved them. they are now used to the noises, and dont run away as much.
I would recommend (as long as they are safe from other animals) my cat and dog ignore them when they are in their cages, to put them in a place where they will get the most interaction..
Good luck with them,
Tori x

ahhh cool.

i guess i just assumed they would be jumping around on the cage lol

One thing I would say though is My friend has a small dog that knocked her cage over that was on wheels, I dont know what your dog is like. She didnt have guinea pigs, it was a bird, but the dog was under it, and knocked it over when someone came in, was just an accident. My cage is on a table. My dog is old, and likes to sit next to them and have a sniff when they are out.. My cat even sits with them (guarded closely by me at ALL TIMES! just in case you never can be 100% sure)

hes a bit excitable cos a) hes a beagle lol b) he is 6 months old. So perhaps for safety measures i will put them on a table.
Thanks for the advice

Not got piggies yet.

Been speaking to nutmeg re: a couple of boys just waiting as she is posting some more pics of another two tonight so i have to choose lol.

Only other problem is getting them to me as we are far away so hoping for some sort of piggie train.

xx

Same with me..since i got older, ive always gone for boys.. mine are all boys apart from 1 rabbit.. a girl.. who gave me unexpected babies yesterday.. and that the reason why i always go for boys! lol
My kids are due home in a min, they have been at their Dads this weekend, so gotta go.. they are desp to see how Lara (the rabbit) is doing
Let me know about your piggies!
:)p

I have an indoor cage and at the moment it is on the livingroom floor (used to be in the dining area until recently when I got a table and chairs). Whenever I'm in the house, I leave the cage door open so that they can come and go as they please - I have 2 cats so the door is shut whenever I'm out.

My plan, however, is to move them into my spare bedroom as soon as I get it decorated and organised. Been a bit short of cash lately so this has been put on hold.

hi i have 4 piggies,3 dogs and currently one rescue dog,the only dog that is ok with my piggies is the rescue that is inside but even just to be safe from any dogs or my daughter letting a dog in there i have my piggies in there own room or any closed off room is fine and i have it double locked,so that i know they are safe,i guess it depends on how much time you set aside for them, mine are part of most family activities even if they are in a less used room x

Mine are in my spare room...completely dedicated to them. I have 3 C&C cages with no lids spread on the floor and 2 cats so I keep the door closed at all times, unless I put my cats into my room on cleaning days.

The room is on the way to the bathroom, so every time I take a trip back there I pop in for a few minutes, say hello, and then spend roughly an hour in there for cuddles and feeding time.

At the moment I have 3 C&C's (one of my boars is in quarantine), the biggest one is in the livingroom on the floor and the other 2 are in the kitchen on the floor. I have no other animals though. Plenty of interraction with them as these are the 2 rooms I'm in constantly as I dont work :)

Mine are in my bedroom, just moved into a much bigger room yesterday. They're in a 7x4 C&C which is divded into 3. There is a safety gate on the door (think stairgate for children) which stops the puppy and the 2 year old twins from accessing the piggies. My room is the only truly safe place for them, and is incidentally my sanctuary from insanity!
