4piggiepigs makes them, hers look far more professional.
They work because the top layer (fleece) Wicks through to the matress protector below. This is padded, and spreads out the pee so it can dry easily. If done propperly (like 4piggiepigs) THen all that should be needed in the cage is a cage liner, as the back of the matress protecor is water resistant.
If your like me, and buy cheap matress protectors you do need a little something underneath to absorb any excaping pee. Ie, newspaper, or in my case pampers disposable baby changing pads.
