I'm seriously thinking of moving over to cage liners and i was wondering a couple of things. If I get the liners from Ziggies website, would I need to put in anything underneath? I was quoted two 3x3 liners at £54 Inc delivery, is this a good price? And can I use it without coroplast? My piggies have completely chewed one side so now their bedding spills out and I'm at the end of my rope with the stuff :hb:

I love our fleece liners. It is so quick to clean out the cage. I put puppy pads under the fleece in the areas that they tend to pee a lot but I think that is me being cautious rather than a necessity.

Thank you, I have some puppy pads I could use to experiment with. The quick cleaning is what tempts me as well, no more scooping out a huge cage.

Here is my new cage liners from Ziggy's. I paid £44 for a 82 x 82 cm and 108 x 82 cm including delivery. Also, I don't use coroplast so I had to have a bit longer measurements than the standard 2x2 and 3x2 C&C. I just put newspapers underneath, although I don't even have to replace the newspapers when I change the cage liners since it never gets wet underneath.

I use fleece liners in my hutches. The base of my hutches are lino so, I don't need to use puppy pads underneath the fleece.

I also advise you get your fleeces a bit larger... As this allows for shrinkage.

I’d love to have cage liners, it would make changing the cage so much easier - but the ones on eBay are soooo expensive. And they charge the earth to deliver. I keep looking at ziggies piggies - I must find out what she’d charge for a couple of 4x2s. Her stuff looks such good quality.

Definitely helps. Each evening I lift the corners to shake the poo to the middle and use a mini dustpan to scoop it up. Hay is generally kept in a plastic dog bed at one end of the cage so mess is contained and easy to tip away.

They are expensive but it is a one off cost so cheaper in the long run

Ziggy will give you a quote... She's very helpful and will happily answer queries.

Yes I’ve got fleece and towels that I keep re-using. I’ve also spent a fortune on pee-pads for the more “used” areas of the cage. It’s Just such a faff getting the towels folded to the right size and the fleece in the right position on cage clean day.
Still the reduced hassle is probably worth the expense x

I've not got a full size cage liner from Ziggy but I did get 2 custom size pee pads to go on the top floor of my 2-storey wooden piggy castle house! Not used them yet they only came today but I was very impressed how quickly my email was answered (within half an hour, on a sunday!) and custom made sizes no problem at all :)
Pampered Piggies are good too, we just got a new cage liner from there, though its rather thick and the washing machine struggled a bit. But I've got some quite good smaller ones off Ebay, from Atalas and Cozy Pets- they are very waterproof on the back and a lot cheaper but they only do pre-made smaller sizes, but actually putting two 2x3 fleeces in a bigger C&C is easier for brushing down and for the washing machine. And we have some Vetfleece too which I used to love until getting a longer haired piggy who sheds a lot, Vetfleece is like fake fur and a pain to brush Blodwen's lovely long fur off!

I would highly recommend trying to make your own ... they are so easy if you have a sewing machine or know someone with one... I love making mine and there are some cute designs for fleeces out there.

Oh I wish I knew how to operate a sewing machine; let alone owning one XD

Thank you everyone, I have a more better idea what to do. It's always so daunting stepping into new territory!
@PigglePuggle I've been looking at those on eBay too, probably would be good to have a few to mix and match? And I also agree with how quick ziggy responds, 10 minutes mine was this evening.
@Veggies Galore my cage has smaller grids, so it's 36 x 84 inches which I looked it up to be the size of a 3 x 6 c&c. I think she adds a bit on to accommodate shrinking so hoping it will be ok.
@anyar.dris thank you for the picture, it looks lovely! Maybe I should ask her to add on a little bit more to fit under? I just hate messing people around if I say "no actually I want this size I need another quote"

I would if I didn't have 5 kids under my feet, plus I can just about manage to thread a needle without a meltdown let alone working a machine XD. Maybe a goal to work toward.

Lol busy household then! I have heard good things about ziggies x

This is what I love about Ziggy. I have ALWAYS got a reply within 15 to 30 mins of sending a message, regardless of what day it was (of course not out of hours at night). She is very accommodating. The first time I inquired from her, I think I kept on changing the sizes but she always reply no matter what. Very understanding. Even if she won't be able to do any custom orders for some reason, she won't leave you hanging with a non-response.

I haven’t sewn mine. If I put in pads that fit they disappear under them. So I have a piece of fleece over a loose absorbent layer and pinned to the cage with more safety pins than I thought possible. And still they go under. It’s a constant battle with my two!

Haha little monkeys. Yes that’s what I do at the moment. I have to be very strategic about how I fold it or they destroy it. They are fortunately leaving the fleece alone at the minute but gnawing through the correx base instead!
