I've been researching and shopping for what cage liners I should use and came to the conclusion that I should make my own liners. I've found a lot of nice absorbent materials to use for the center layers, but I wanted to get your guys opinions first. What materials do you guys recommend?

I recommend only newspapers underneath the fleece liners, you need only to change the wet spots... it is practical and extremely cheap (old newspapers and leaflets from supermarket work amazingly for free and pieces of fleece fabric are not expensive)

a fleece not sewn with other layers is always almost dry and you can hang it out the window for some minutes (I wash it once/twice a week)

I agree. Zorb is the best. So lightweight and absorbent.

I found washable incontinance pads a bit heavy. I like matteess protectors (cotton). Not tried towels.

Before I had liners made for my cages I used towels under fleece and they worked very well :)

I use B&M puppy pads under my fleece - it's 3.99 for a pack of 30. Pretty absorbent, keep the smell under control, easy to dispose of and then I can swap out my fleece easily while one is in the wash. I occasionally add newspaper if my two boars are in a piddly mood!

When people use towels do they use just normal bathroom towels?
